April 2026 will mark 50 years of experience as a consulting forester and marks the 37th anniversary of opening my business Timber Marketing & Management of the Carolinas, Inc.   I started my career in consulting forestry right after graduating from Clemson University in 1976. My consulting forestry work has taken me from the Piney Woods region of east Texas, to the northern hardwoods of the New England states and to the coniferous forests out west. All great experiences that have added to my forest management knowledge base. However, the piedmont and coastal plain of North Carolina is where I chose to live and work.

What I have really enjoyed most in my career is meeting the landowners. They come from all walks of life and have provided quite an education for me over the past 50 years.  Meeting them, learning about their lives and what their forest management goals are and helping them to achieve those goals has been a great reward in itself.   I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the clients who have entrusted me with their forest management and real estate brokerage work over the last 50 years.    Sincerely,    Edwin E.
